The Challenge

Newly Weds Foods’ production area relied on old metal halide fixtures that provided poor lighting and could not be properly cleaned because they were not wash down rated.

The Solution

Shat·R·Shield offered Newly Weds Foods three key benefits: cost savings, improved lighting, and wash down capability. The company qualified for a rebate by switching to more energy-efficient fixtures, reducing monthly utility bills. Shat·R·Shield guided the decision using photometric analysis and return on investment (ROI) calculations.

Newly Weds Foods after installation of LED high bays

It is like night and day difference in our production area. We went from 12 foot-candles (fc) to 60 fc with the Shat-R-Shield Wash Down High Bays. We also reduced our fixture count from 84 to 68 which will help reduce our electric bill. This will also make our plant more hygienic since we can clean them regularly without damaging the lights
