Food Service

FDA (Food & Drug Administration) Food Code Chapter 6, Section 202.11 Light Bulbs, Protective Shielding states that “…light bulbs shall be protected, coated, or otherwise shatter-resistant in areas where there is exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; or unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.” Restaurants, school and hospital cafeterias, catering operations and any place where meals are prepared outside of the home are subject to these lighting guidelines. In the event that a lamp is compromised, our skin-tight coating will contain virtually all glass, plastic and other lamp contaminants. Safety coated lighting is invaluable to the food service industry and Shat-R-Shield has the biggest selection to-date.
